There are several stages during construction where a stage inspection may be requested. Not all stages require an inspection; however, the recommended stages listed below generally align with standard HIA/MBA progress payment milestones and are strongly advised.

Inspecting at these stages allows defects or non-compliant work to be identified and rectified prior to releasing progress payments and before the next stage of work commences.

•Slab Inspection – prior to concrete pour (Base / Slab stage)
•Frame & Truss Inspection – prior to cladding or roof cover (Frame stage)
•Lock-Up Inspection – external walls, roof covering, windows and doors installed (Lock-Up stage)
•Pre-Sheet / Linings Inspection – prior to plasterboard installation (Pre-Fix stage)
•Waterproofing Inspection – wet areas prior to tiling (Fixing stage)
•Practical Completion Inspection – prior to final payment (Practical Completion stage)
•90-Day Defects Liability Inspection – prior to expiry of defects period
