What a CBR Pest Inspection Covers
A CBR pest inspection is a thorough visual inspection for timber pests, covering termites, borers and wood decay, carried out to AS 4349.3, the Australian Standard for timber pest inspections. It is carried out in person by a licensed builder whose construction background means they know exactly where activity tends to start and where damage tends to hide.
The inspection covers the interior, exterior, roof void and subfloor wherever these can be safely accessed, along with the grounds and any outbuildings or fencing within the property boundary. Conducive conditions, the things that attract or support pests such as moisture, poor drainage and timber in ground contact, are noted as well.
Thermal imaging and moisture detection are used alongside the visual inspection to help identify activity behind walls and in other concealed areas that a visual check alone would miss.
Findings are compiled into a clear report within 24 to 48 hours, setting out any activity or damage found, the risk of future attack, and recommendations for management or treatment where needed.
