Practical completion is the point where your builder considers the work finished and final payment falls due. It is also your last real chance to have defects identified while the builder is still contractually responsible for fixing them. An independent practical completion inspection makes sure that chance is not wasted. 
 

The inspection is carried out in person by a licensed builder with over 15 years in residential construction, someone who knows what good work looks like and where corners get cut. It covers the quality of workmanship and finishes throughout the home or extension, checking for defects, incomplete work and anything that falls short of the standard you are entitled to expect. 
 

Findings are compiled into a clear defect report, with copies for both you and your builder, which you can use to have items rectified before you make the final payment. 
 

This service is for new homes and extensions. For units bought off the plan, the off the plan unit inspection covers the same ground tailored to that situation. 
 

A practical completion inspection starts from $500, including GST. Once off inspections are from $575 depending on the job, and the inspection is discounted to $495 within a construction stage package. A firm quote is provided before booking.
